OT-Medical term for gas pain

Does anyone know the medical term for pain caused by gas? Someone mentioned it on here once and I can't remember it for the life of me. I'm trying to do some research about gas pain and flying and it would be helpful to have that term!

gastroenteritis? or enteritis? (inflammation caused by a viral gastro bug)  skull

dyspepsia is heartburn or reflux or GERD....equally painful at times, however. smilewinkgrin

dysbiosis?  shocked at's not the gas..it's a condition of bacterial overgrowth I think.

princesa is the one I believe who talked about it..or maybe kim123?

It definitely wasn't in the SCD thread as I tend to skip over those.

In a week and a half I'm flying to FL for vacation. When I saw that word in the thread, I put it into wikipedia and it mentioned something about getting gas bubbles from the cabin pressure while flying. When I flew to Hawaii a couple years ago I had gas pain just like that and being the bio nerd that I am, I wanted to research it some more :)

Interesting...I know it's been mentioned before as well....but as I mentioned, the search function has changed and doesn't seem efficient as previously.

But...do put out a quesion titled dysbiosis...princesa? kim?..whomever?

That should get their attention.

Som it's the research part...ah....I would suggest Gas-X about an hour before a flight possibly.
