Radidal Colectomy

 1 st surgery:I had a radical colectomy in several surgeries [2 1/2 years ago]. I was so diseased my colon literally fell apart when it was removed.2nd surgery: I had to wait for healing before my rectum was removed. [I had pan colitis]. I had really bad infection when my rectum was removed and an ileal "J" pouch was made and left dormant for 2 months in preparation for my reversal.

3rd surgery: I had to be put on a wound vac to heal my wound and infection. I had the wound vac for 5 1/2 weeks which caused post neural pain similar to diabetic neuropathy. I am on several medications as well as a pain patch for burning

 pain. I'm looking for some relief myself, painwise.4th and final surgery: reversal. And the fun began! 

I have many bathroom visits during the night due to bowel incontinence. I use Metimucil and Immodium prior to bedtime and have to

take sleep medication otherwise I wouldn't sleep at all.

I have to wear pads day and night as I sometimes leak. [Moreso at night] I don't get any warning at night.

I need help for this constant burning....does anyone have any remedies???? The meds that I take definately have taken a toll on my

I use calmoseptine on a daily basis at times, especially when I've eaten something and it causes me to be acidic. I've done the prednisone for 10 years which caused a lot of bone loss. I've done the special diet eating nothing but lactade free foods, stay away from

graveys heavy meats etc. it seems to help.

My j-pouch seems to be going well, I just have to enlarge my pouch by doing my excercises etc.
My problem is having to take Neurontin plus Hydro-Codone 3x per day for the burning pain [wound vac 5 1/2 weeks].
My night time bathroom visitation could be a little less, but, I think that hopefully will take care of itself with time.
