Lialda and Being in the Sun

Hey Everyone,

So I posted about my worries for the plane ride to Hawaii but it's now occurring to me to ask if being in the sun swimming and tanning will be affected by my Lialda? I take 4.8mg daily and was wondering if it causes sun sensitivity and if so what does that mean to me? Will it make me burn? Should I avoid the sun? Wear lots of sunscreen? Any experience would be helpful.

I also take 4 pills a day. I am not sure if it makes you burn easier...I have never heard that...but, I would suggest applying sunscreen no matter what, you don't want to deal with a sunburn on vaction. It can ruin your fun for one, but also, every sunburn increases your chance of skin cancer and pre-mature aging...which no woman wants!

Just do your normal thing. I have never had lialda, or any other asa drug, increase my sensitivity to the sun.

I've been on it for awhile and although my dermatologist always nags me about my tan, I never burn. There's no sun warning for Lialda (Prednisone makes you sensitive to the sun, as do many antibiotics, however).
