Hi butterfly42....again, you're welcome!
I started on a low dosage of Effexor XR...37.5 for about 6 months. I then want off it, and ended up in a bad depression again about 6 months later.
The doc tried me on Celexa (slept for a week) and then Paxil )headache and felt stoned for a week)...I then went back on Effexor...amazing difference for me.
I did, however, after a week at that time, increase to 75mg where I'm still at.
It takes the 'edge" off, but I still have to make the efforts to change my perspective on things to make my self feel better. I don't want to go higher..but I would suspect if something happens in my life, that could be an option.
As long as I can function it's better than being in a bad state. I have taken ativan for anxiety, but in reality, I don't feel that good on it. It could be because I'm on Effexor...
Let me know how you do on it....
Oh, for the first week or two, I had nausea with it about 2 hours after I took it. I was prescribed to take it in the morning...but ugh, no good. I take it at night, but figured out that with the nausea, it was helped to take it with a bigger meal.
If you do get nausea, there is Gravol made from ginger which many of my friends have found helpful. Just don't take it if you're pregnant..lol!
I want you to know I don't do any diets for UC but do adjust my food intake somewhat when I'm flaring. I won't suggest you don't try anything, for some do find success and you just might be one of them.
Keep me posted as to how you're doing.
