Amount of time on Cort enemas

     Just wondering how long any of you have been on Cort enemas.  I started them the beginning of June and the doctor said to continue.  Geez, I just hope this doesn't wear away the lining of my rectum.

At one time I was on them for almost a year (that's why I'm on 6mp now).

     I'm on prednisone, Colazal, 6MP, Cort enemas and Canasa....sheesh...something oughta kick in!     I am getting better but taking a loooong time.

I know, it's horrible isn't it? You are doing everything that they tell you to do - take this med, take that med but there still is no miracle cure all drug yet. Very frustrating.......

How about cortifoam three times a day plus Anusol?  So far I can really only manage the cortifoam 2 times (just isn't time for resting so it won't run out).  I do manage the anusol 3 times.  BUT - I am not on any other medications now - can't tolerate any of them and tapered and end prednisone a week ago.  Seems to be getting better (less blood and discomfort - leftside).  I think we must be more patient than we are willing to be!!

I have been using Entocort enema since last October. I used it nightly for 7 weeks then slowly tapered. My doctor started me on it when I told her that I couldn't tolerate Salofalk (Rowasa) enema as well as I did in the past. And I was having terrible abnominal cramps. Entocort enema made me feel much better in just 5 days.
I know I shouldn't use Entocort enema indefinitely but I am still not in remission. I still have urgency and blood, 3-5 BMs a day. I still need it at least twice a week.
In the past week I have as many as 8-10 BMs a day and now I am using it nightly again.
