permanent thickening of rectum and sigmoid ? (causing urgency even on remission)

hi, i've asked of this problem i have a year ago on the forum and i wanted to hear from new people here if they are experiencing it, because i found it to be a very rare problem that i havent encountered yet with other people who have ulcerative colitis, so i have been very frustrated with it.
the problem is my colon wall is thickened (on the left side) and narrow and has been like that for 5 years now. its causing me to have a very distressing urgency problem although i don't have any inflammation and i'm on remission (no diarrhea or blood or any other symptom) besides "narrow" stool few times a day and sense of urgency when i have to go which disables me in my life alot. im taking 5A-SA and 6mp to remain in remission btw.

i'll appreciate your response.....

on the left side= on the left colon ,sigmoid and rectum mostly.

From what I've read about UC over the yrs, narrowing of the lumen (hollow space inside the colon) is common with chronic inflammation and so is thinning of the mucosa. But thickening of the colon wall is not common-- could it be some scar tissue from severe inflammation in your past? Have you discussed it with your gastroenterologist? / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])

scar tissue ... i think it has to do something with it but is there anyway to treat this?

I don't know if rectal meds could help....at least to keep it from getting worse.
