Old Hat - I have no idea why it censored your post. haha. I know you were more concerned with the finance part and I do appreciate your concerns and practical posts. Sometimes I am really bad at looking at things rationally or practically and I just let my emotions guide me so it is good to consider the practical reasons as well. I am still a bit concerned with the financial aspect as well but I am going to give it a go. Money will be tight but I made a budget and I think it will be doable as long as I live simply for the year.

Diana - Thank you for the reply. I agree that my job stress is very bad for my UC. I actually first got UC after just starting this job. Never had a single stomach/intestinal problem before in my life. Now it may have been a coincidence but I can't help but wonder if the stress of it played some role. That's cool you're trying a vegan diet. I'm vegetarian (not for UC reasons, been one before that) and I've thought about going vegan.

Oh, wow, Sara, I wish you all the best for your transition to the new locale & job! Have you lived in that area before, or do you know it from visits to family/friends? You're going to be super busy packing, etc. so be sure to get enough rest in between the chores & eat properly. I remember my twenties very vividly; it's actually a hard time of life getting channelled into jobs, housing, personal relationships, all those essential aspects of adult life which can & do get messed up. Not that they can't/don't get messed up later in life, too, but older age is less of a proving ground, TG. Do keep us updated as your time permits, eh? / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])
