Another Flair!?

Hey everyone, I just registered here, and I'm 19 years old and had a HORRIBLE flair for 2 months last spring... I was in the bed pretty much NEVER getting out unless rushing to the bathroom for a month and a half... I needed a huge blood transfusion and I lost 40 pounds. I have been feeling great since then and have gained all the weight back, I was down to 120 and I'm 6 feet tall.

So just the last few days I'm having the AWESOME symptoms coming back!!! :( I don't even know what to do, I'm in school and already had to wipe out an entire semester and 700 dollars down the drain due to my last flair up, and now I'm in the middle of a new semester and have a huge test tomorrow, but its 5 in the morning almost and the Colitis woke me up like it used to every night during my last flair.... and I'm scared I'm not going to be able to make the test tomorrow, If I'm feeling like I am now it would be impossible...

Maybe a few words of encouragement?? I'm just scared to death.. I'm calling my doctor tomorrow

Can you tell us what meds you're currently on? That can help us give you advice...you can make a signature like most of us have by clicking on "control panel" at near the top left of the page. If you are aggressive at treating it in the early stages, there's a chance you'll get it under control before it gets too bad.

It's unfortunate your symptoms have flared during the pred taper...you should, however, ask your doc for some rectal meds to help while you're getting off the pred.

Did you just lower the incriment of pred? from what..15?

you could also stagger the taper....go back up to 15, 15, 15, 15...10, 15, 10, 15, 10, 15, 10....10, 10, 10, 10....etc.
