Welcome to the forum. I checked the manufacturer's website www.salix.com/products/apriso/index.aspx and learned their own studies reveal a side-effect of acid stomach in 5% of the study group. The time-release formula is activated by acids in your digestive system. I don't know much about acid reflux but it would make sense that if you already have a higher than normal acid level in your upper digestive area the medicine might be dissolving too fast. I would definitely call your GI. This drug is supposed to have statistically fewer side-effects than Lialda but both have been on the market too short a time to have consumers really compare the side effects.
