Hello All!
I am pleased to announce that our little daughter was born last week, healthy, happy, and absolutely beautiful. She arrived weighing just under 7 pounds and is a healthy, happy little girl so far as we can tell at this early stage. She was breech, so was delivered a bit shy of her due date of October 18th, but in essence, she arrived as a fat, happy, full-term infant.
My meds are listed in my signature, but I was lucky enough to stay in remission with only a few minor hiccups throughout my pregnancy. I am still feeling good at the moment, but we're not yet a week post-delivery, and I know my hormones have a lot in store for me over the next few weeks.
I am currently breastfeeding after getting the o.k. from our pediatrician, and staying on my current cocktail of medicines. I plan to keep with the breastfeeding unless the baby makes it clear that she's better off on formula-the doctor said he'd be monitoring her closely since I'm taking the imuran-but again she seems to be doing just fine. We're having some first-few-days nursing struggles but nothing out of the ordinary.
We named her Eliza and are enjoying her very much. Just thought I'd share this news with all you worried UC moms and moms-to-be. :)

Congratulations and welcome to the world little Eliza (beautiful name!)!!
Hope the hormones don't cause your UC to act up.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Eliza is a beautiful name too. I hope you continue to feel great and that the nursing all falls into place (I didn't have much luck either time-and that was BEFORE my UC!)
Also, thank you for sharing this. I am not on Imuran, but we do want more children, and being on Humira, I have wondering particularly about
nursing while on it.
So glad you have a perfect little girl-what a blessing!!

Aww how sweet! Congratulations and I am happy to hear that you didn't have any issues while being on Imuran. That gives hope to many other women who are on immune suppressors wanting to get pregnant.
