Hello Newbie Here

Hi, I am new here i have been kinda reading posts for 2 weeks and wanted to join in all the advice and support here i think would help me.

  I am a a 43 year old woman who in 2003 had a little bout of blood in my stool went to a doc and had a Colonoscopy right away i was told i had UC. I was put only on Canasa Supp. the blood was only a few days back then and was gone even before the procedure. I was younger and just thought it was no big deal had no idea it was somthing that was going to ever come back was never on anymore meds and was living a semi normal life ( I say that cause i live with cronic Anxiety and OCD take meds for that for years)

   Well long story short a month ago i got real bad D (sorry spelling) but i always have with stress it was no biggie but then a ton of blood mucas cramps ect. I could not stay outta the bathroom. I am afraid of Doc. s I am a chicken LOL.

   I was bleeding for about 3 weeks and mucas and getting real weak I went to another GI my old one retired. This past Mon. I had another Colonoscopy. I was put on Ascol and Rowasa enamas we tried the canasa again but little effect my UC is about 12 inches so he said the canasa can't reach that far. I had to stop the Ascol ASAP from side effects, I have used 2 Rowasa the past 2 nights I think it is helping my Doc. just hopes that those alone will put me back in remission again. I am to see him in a month so we can see.

   I am sorry this is so long kinda trying to throw everything out there. I imagine i am wondering has anyone with UC that is about 12 inches gone into remission with Rowasa alone? Is 12 inches real bad ? I have no idea what went wrong since 03. that made this hit hard and bad and last more than a few days ? I did get some relief from the canasa no cramping anymore going less times a day but i am not eating much. My stool has less blood and it looks like it is trying to form a bit.

   Sorry again that is a quick low down on me and I am pleased to meet you all. I am hoping for the best but suffer from depression so it is hard. I have been in bed for a month even though feeling better. I would like any feedback possible and again it is nice to be here.

Thank You, it is hard for me dealing with regular life then this was thrown at me and brought up alot of bad stress habits like I sleep alot when depressed but i may have been sleeping alot because of the bad flare too who knows. I am afraid of getting sick and cramping in public so it keeps me home. I have not worked in 2 years because of my other problems. I hate that now when i try to walk the dog i get dizzy alot and i used to be able to take him for long walks. I think the dizzy is from the enamas ?? I know sounds odd but after i rid my body of a enama i am real light headed? Still trying to figure that one out LOL. Thank You again and I am glad you are able to maintain a normal life i hope to also.

I'm sure the walks with your dog are very therapeutic, I wish I had a dog! Maybe I'll borrow one...
Would using a walking stick help? It used to help my mother when she had to take meds that made her a little dizzy.
