Over the past three months I nave had very dark almost black stool. After a few days it was back to normal. Anyone ever had this?

Very dark/almost black stool could be because of blood in the stool, especially if you're bleeding higher up the gut. Bleeding that is lower in the gut is typically more red as it's fresher bleeding.

What medicines/supplements do you take? Iron supplements and Bi****h (PeptoBismol) can both cause black stool.
Oreos or Hydrox
cookies can also cause black stool.
Have you had a recent blood test to check for anemia?

Do you take supplements? I take a lot of iron pills and certain ones cause darker stool. Other ones don't.

I had bouts of Dark like that then the next one would be lighter before i got to the doc and started my Med. He told me it was blood that was either higher up or blood that sat in the intestines for a little while. I only had it when my flare was at it's worst for about
2 days along with alot of pain and mucas.
