Chiefly,
The Dr's name is Harish Verma and he has a website called "ulcerativecolitiscure.com"(I know, terrible name). Full disclosure, I am of Indian decent and when my daughter was in hospital my parents and uncle (all located in Canada) contacted him without my knowledge. He is an acquaintance of my uncle, as is baba ramdev (a very famous yoga/ayurvedic guru in India, you can google him). I've spoken to Dr. Verma several times since I became aware of him and his connection with my uncle and he seems very knowledgable and experienced (ie. he is very well versed in all of the allopathic drugs, is an MD himself and only treats UC with his compounds). My husband (not Indian) and I came to trust him (ie. he does say he has very good results but makes no outlandish claims, which I admit, I wanted him to make! He is also not keen to take his patients off of traditional meds too quickly, until it's clear how they are responding). Also, I know someone who's been treated by him and has had his compounds tested to make sure he doesn't add steroids etc. The tests were clear. I'm in Canada and he does not ship here because customs doesn't allow it but does ship to the US and often travels there to treat patients. I've just managed to get his meds for my daughter today (also those of Baba Ramdev) from a friend who brought them over for me. So, I can't testify to their effeciveness, though I have found one thread on healingwell where someone else mentions his treatment and they were having very good results. So, I'm sort of connected to the guy, but indirectly, I've called a few people treated by him, they are happy and off meds mostly. I will be trying his meds with my daughter. Best of Luck!
wishing to help,
Wow, I'm impressed that your daughter eats so few carbs! It's not very hard to get up to 72grams. Have you noticed any changes in the last year since she started this? I'd be interested to hear about your experiences with this. We vaguely aim for this but not strictly by anymeans and I'm sure if we calculated we'd be well over most days but still we're much much lower than the average North American eater.
Songlady, Dr. Lutz feels that the consumption of grains (including and perhaps especially?) whole grains, is the cause of many health problems. So, your experience, as well as ours and wishingtohelp's would indicate that if genetically disposed, the high/very high consumption of carbs could set things off or at least worsen things.
