tired of GI dr's and issues

I have a sigmoidoscopy tommorrow and kind of nervous....shouldn't be since I have had one in august and a  colonoscopys in april and 1 in oct 07. I was doing awsome til I weaned off the prednisone after I had started Remicade. Now for the past 2 weeks...I have been going about 4-9 times per day. Stomach pain, nausea, urgency and feeling like I have to go even when I don't just to add to it all. I am kind of discouraged Remicade isn't working for me yet.   I of course don't want my colon to look bad....but my dr is the kind that seems to think if my colon doesn't look extremely bad that it must be something else causing my issues or just puts my symptoms off as being nothing. I know its UC that is causing it..what else would it be??   I had no blood, urgency, gas, or side pain when I was on remicade and pred together. When I quit pred within 2 weeks all symptoms back with a vengence. If my GI says i look ok tommorrow I am going to look into switching GI's. Sometimes I feel like they don't believe me and thats really annoying. I told him last time I didn't appreciate how he sounded and that I wouldn't be wasting my time and money if I wasn't actually having issues.

And if your GI done'st respect your opinion, it might indeed be time to change. There are GIs out there that do work in partnership with their patients and respect their patients' views and instincts.

So I went in for my flex sig today and the results were mild/mod inflammation but he said compared to aprils colonoscopy it was a lot better. The part I don't understand is that he says its better but every scope Ive had is only 5 cm and now its 8 cm....not a huge difference but made me wonder why it traveled a little farther up....although he seemed to think it wasn't that big of a deal so i guess I won't either and will ask at my next appt. So I guess the plan is to restart proctofoam use immodium (GI's idea) and do stool cultures to rule out infections. Hopefully after my next remi treatment I will feel a whole lot better than I am right now.

I wonder the same thing fruitgirl!! I wonder if it looked worse last week or how fast it changes.
