Chest xrays while on Remicade

I have had two Remicade infusions so far and my third one is scheduled for Thursday morning. My doctor wants me to have a chest xray being that I tested positive on a PPD back in 1967 but when tested before going on Remicade, it was negative. He said he wants to stay on top of things. If I may add, I had a chest xray in May of 08 while hospitalized and that was also negative.

I am on Remicade & get a chest x-ray & TB test one every year.

Yes, it's a new requirement for Kaiser to have me do a TB test done once a year; not sure if it's done for all Remicade patients or if it's just a requirement for some individual health plans.

I'm in canada and got tested once before starting treatment and once 3 years before I got diagnosed with UC because of my field of study. The doctor never told me to get other tb testing after my 2nd negative but it might be different in the US. Better be on the safe side anyways :)

One of the side effects of Remicade is that it can cause TB. Therefore the yearly test.
