UC & Crohn's

I had a colonoscopy done this morning, with no good news. I have left-sided UC and some where in my colon (I was still out of it when he was explaining) I have Crohn's w/a fistula leading to my bladder. What else can go wrong with my body! Honestly... I'm depressed, I just want to die. then adding the no insurance on top of it? aahhhh!!

my Gi is putting me on: Pentasa (6 daily), 100 mg imuran, and a hydrocodon (?) enema.

Anyone here have both UC and Crohn's?

It would seem you have Crohn's colitis....treatment is the same.

I have a friend who has the same as you....anorectal disease plus in the colon.

When I flare I get inflammation in the rectum, and I have a Cecal Patch on the right hand side -both mild inflammation. The left hand sides bleeds which is the only way I know something is going on. So the diagnosis is Chrohns Colitis although some GI's call it UC with a Cecal Patch which isn't uncommon. The mild Cecal Patch appears to be there even when I am not flaring and the whole colon is clean too.. its weird.

There is a form of UC that has rectal involvement and cecal patch...but clear in between. It's possible that form becomes pancolitis especially if the cecal patch inflammation isn't treated with oral meds.

The two are not the same and the docs don't use it interchangably from what I've read.
