It likely takes longer than a well over a month without sugar/carbs to fully leave your system, and I'm sure it varies for each person...all I know is I'm better off not eating refined sugar and bad carbs and not just in the bowel department but overall health as well, it's amzing, almost ironic how not eating sugar actually gives you more energy even though when eating sugar gives you a rush of energy but then you crash from it, not eating it at all = continuous energy, healthier skin, hair and nails and a great nights sleep everynight and waking up refreshed. Just my experiances.

Well said pb4,
But it's not only that, somethings we eat things that we think is ok but in reality they contain sugar; it took me several months to discover that even canned goods and certain meats (processed meats) contain sugar. Now, I can occasionally eat 'certain' sugary foods because my body has been detoxed and can handle it...yet still, avoiding sugar and excess carbs isn't enough in my case, I also take probiotics and herbal bacteria killers as well...plus I exercise.
By avoiding sugar, taking probiotics, taking herbal parasite killers and exercising...I have managed to COMPLETELY HEAL MY COLON, which was once covered with ulcers. Once a blue moon I might get my colon flushed if I don't stick to my diet and symptoms return; but my colon is 100% percent normal yet blood results show that ulcerative colitis is still present.
Basically, I have colitis without the inflammation if that makes sense.
