Don't know whether or not to inform GI doctor of this

     I had my 3rd Remicade infusion on Dec 31st.  Early Sat morning I had diarrhea, fever and flu like symptoms.  I spoke to the GI on call.  He was going to start me on antibiotics because of the fever ...101..but I told him sometimes antibiotics throw me into flares.  He said to call him on Sunday.  Sunday I felt 98% better...no fever, no body aches.  Monday felt well again.  Yesterday and today I have a stuffy nose, body aches and low grade fever again....rolleyes .  I am just taking Tylenol.  Do you think this is Remicade after effects?  I haven't been around anyone who has been sick to my knowledge.

This sounds like a garden varitey flu. But if your symptoms escalate call your GI. There's a lot of bad bugs going around now and you can pick them up anywhere. Feel better!

I hope you are feeling better soon. I was fighting a cold last week. It seems like everyone is getting sick right now.

My mom said that the flu takes about a week once you catch it to really get going? I dunno if that's right, but if it is, you could've caught it before, even at the hospital maybe. But if you keep improving and then relapsing, go see a doctor.

I am not familiar w/remicade Christine but your GI should do a blood work up & check your white count.
But again would the remi affect that count? You just may have to take that antibiotic if that's the case.
