what is a stricture?

Hi all.  Well it has been 3-4 days since I have gone and I am on mirolax.  When I have gone it had been real lose and very small.  about a 1/4 of an inch in diameter with some beign ribbon like.  pain and blaoting today again at wrok.  Difficult to pass gass.  should I take soem gas x?  Any ideas anyone.

Sounds like inflammation. Are you taking rectal enemas or suppositories? If not this would help.

A stricture is a narrowing of the intestine and is usually caused by scar tissue after abdominal surgery. Of course strictures can also occur in Crohn's patients.

My doc dosn't want me to take rectal meds. due to pelvic floor dysfunction.  Teh pelvic floor dysfunction causes me to hold things in - I have a hard time relaxing those mucles so rectal meds just make this condition worse.  I don't want to haev to take a laxative.  Feel so nausaus too.
