I'm just back from my 6 monthly check up with my GI. My wife came with me today, this was first time she's came along to an appointment. I felt it was a good idea for her to understand more about
uc. My doctor told us that he believes that i may have a prolapsed bowel. He has ordered a sigmoidoscopy and told me that he intends to do a u- turn when the scope enters to get a better idea what is going on. I do not know anything about
a prolapsed bowel to be honest.
He also said he was contacting my gp to make it very clear that under no circumstances i be given steroids again. He said it is obvious that they ae not working, and the side effects are too great. He believes that pain under ribs may be liver related and not stomach ulcers as my gp thought.
What happens if i do have a prolapse, does it always mean surgery?n Any help or advice is much appreciated.
