My daughter Megan was born on the 28th jan,oh so happy.....strangely enough my symptons have almost but gone,as we had a few complications it was a very stressing time(even though the good wife did all the work) and I was sure i was going to get an attack but no,not a thing.

I just hope and pray that i have not passed on this desease to wonderful daughter.

Congrats on the new arrival!!!! - I too have this fear though, my daughter Caragh is now 5 years old.. and we have another on the way! (due in September)..

Congratulations. Try not to worry if they will get UC (chances are low). With each case of diarrhea, abdominal pain or even gas my daughters' (11 and 13) get I’m always thinking the same thing,

     I wouldn't stress about passing the UC on.  I have ulcerative proctitis but my mother didn't have it.  Dad had diverticulitis and had an operation to remove a pouch.  Dad's mother, my paternal grandmother died from cancer of the rectum back in 1952.  I was a little girl at the time and my mom told me nana had hemorrhoids that went untreated.  I believe now that nana must have had UC from knowing the symptoms the poor dear suffered for two years prior to her death.  Not much was spoken about bowel disorders back then.  However, that is the only knowledge I have of anyone in the family with this illness.  Dad was an only child....well, his older sister died from diptheria in 1911 but that was before he was born.  None of my aunts or uncles had this disease.   My two daughters do not exhibit any symptoms of this either, the oldest being 37 and youngest 32.

Did you have a hard time trying to conceive your baby girl with UC? How long did it take you to become prego?

Well congratulations, that's awesome..."ring of fire" I bet, I remember when I had ring of fire with my son, god I had no idea it literally felt like that...it's not so strange really that your IBD is behaving, hormones can do funny things to our IBD, sometimes good, sometimes bad, sometimes makes no difference at all, this can happen during pregnancy as well as after child birth.

LOL, I just went back and re-read your post (your wife did all the work) oh man, where is my head...guess my 2 cents wasn't even worth that LOL...but even though it was your wife doing all the work, as a woman I can appreciate the fact that it takes it's toll on the daddy, so I'm glad that your UC has been behaving during this stressful but exciting time.
