Rectal suppositories vs. enemas

What kind of enemas have you been trying? The cort? I find that liquid to be "lighter" somehow than the rowasa, and easier to keep in. Have you tried using just half of the bottle, which would still spread farther than the suppository....?
I've been doing cort every night and rowasa three times a week in mornings (after the morning "cluster" of bm's)... as long as I lay on my left side for 30 minutes (I read while doing that) I'm good to go. As the inflammation has lessened I'm retaining that morning one longer and longer - about 9 hours at this point, till an early evening bm.

And how often have you been doing the suppositories? I remember at one point my GI wrote the script to say "morning, night, and after each bowel movement." We both laughed over the potential of that number! - but I did them about 3 times a day for a short while (I remember inserting one in a restroom in a department store on a clothes shopping trip once....)

     justwrong....my UC is limited to the rectum...thank God.  Although my GI says it is very stubborn...lol.  He also told me that proctitis is the most uncomfortable...but how does one know that unless they suffer from it?  I am sure the people in here who suffer from pancolitis will differ.  UC is uncomfortable not matter where in the colon it lies.

     I am afraid to use them for long periods of time..cort anything..suppositories or enemas.  Right now I am just using them in the mornings and once in awhile in the evening.

     Songlady...I am able to only get in half the bottle...never did have luck with a full bottle of the enemas.  I am using the cort as the Rowasa irritated me the last time I used it.
