Hi all -
I started some psyllium seed a month or so ago, and a thread here about
that, but I was heading into a mini-flare and... I kept seeing increasing blood.
So I dropped the seed powder, saw the GI, got cortenemas and a prescript
ion for VSL#3DS.
I'm about
out of the flare, started tapering the cortenemas last night (subsituting rowasa - otherwise I was doing rowasa 3 times a week in mornings.) I'm hoping I've stayed on the cortenemas long enough - I want to get off them asap, having been on them for a year previously (came off them 6 mo. ago).
A week ago I started adding a teaspoon of psyllium seed powder. I am still taking the same amount of metamucil, but am adding now a heaping teaspoon of the seed powder to it.
I have seen no blood at all in 10 days (since before I started the seed powder) and the stools are formed, 2-3 per day (4 if I've eaten a lot of fibrous stuff the day before - yay, I'm tolerating salads!!)
It was the VSL and cortenemas that got rid of the flare, but the seed sure is making things seem more "normal" than I've seen in, um, decades.
So - just sharing.
I've learned so much from all of you....
