Pam.....how are you?

Thank you for thinking of me! I am not feeling well at all. I have not been able to get over the nausea and throwing up and the medication is not helping. I am getting worse every day it seems. The past couple days, I haven't been able to leave bed and I've been throwing up all day and night. I've always had issues with this and was told it was the UC. It's obviously not, which is very sad for me because they can't figure out what it is, and I could have had it solved years ago if anyone had ever looked into it. I've also been having weird issues with my nerves/muscles or something. My finger will move out too far and get stuck and then slowly go back into place several times a day, my skin tingles, I sometimes can't feel my arms. I don't know what is happening to me.

Pam - I'm so sorry things aren't getting better. Please check into the side effects of the Reglan as there are currently some lawsuits due to tardive dyskinesia caused by Reglan and it appears to be a muscular disorder (based upon a quick scan of a website). Does your GI or surgeon have any guesses as to why you have the nausea issue or have they suggested TPN so that you can get some nutrients to stay in you? Is your food still staying in you for a long time before you throw it up? Is the reglan helping at all? Are you low on potassium again or anemic? Are they doing blood tests to keep on top of this? I hope that they are able to figure out what is causing your nausea so you can begin to return to good health and start to enjoy your life without UC.

I did know about the side effects to Reglan, but the nurse explained it to me as a facial paralysis. My surgeon is consulting another doctor tomorrow and having me admitted to have more testing done.

I hope you get some answers soon so you can start to feel better. I am so sorry you feel terrible. I wish things weren't so difficult for you.
