Cort suppositories...more harm than good?

     I was wondering if I should continue with these cort suppositories since the doctor doesn't know exactly what is going on with me...what is causing this intense pressure and urgency.  I want to believe it is the UP but it may be a prolapsed hemorrhoid.  I just took a good hot sitz bath with witch hazel.

     Oh well....guess I answered my own question.  I just tried the cort suppository and my rectum didn't like it...spit it right out along with globs of mucus and blood.  Guess that is that.

I have never tried them. I have been having a ton of gas after using Canasa lately. It's very odd.

If you're already feeling terrible, stop them for a couple of days and see how you feel. I am on the cort enemas now. They were helping for the first few weeks and now I'm back to bleeding, pain and 10+ BMs a day. I want to stop using them but my doctor asked me not to change my meds until after my scope on Tuesday. If he puts me on pred I will not be continuing the cort enemas. I don't want roids and roids! Also, I'm starting to wonder if like you said the cort enemas and suppositories are good for short stints but cause problems if taken for longer. I'm on week 5 of mine. How long have you been using them?

     I've been using them for months...off and on though.  I cannot retain the enemas at all, they just bubble right on out.  I am giving Remicade one more day to kick in before starting back on the prednisone.  Really hate going back on the pred.  Maybe I could wait till Monday and hopefully get in to see the doctor so he can maybe take a peak at what is going on.  Could be bad internal hemorrhoids....wishful thinking.
