I have been in a flare since christmas, and after seeing my consultant 2 weeks ago, she has booked me in for a flexible sig with sedation on 22nd March.
My blood results were not good, and the doctor thought i had an infection. But after giving a stool sample everything came back all clear. So the doctor says i must just have chronic inflammation
So no meds and going on 9 weeks of flaring, i am not feeling all that great. I have lost about
6lbs not good when i only now weigh about
86Ibs.
I have better days and then really bad days. I have always been bleeding throughout this flare, but the left sided pain has been really strong when having my bowels
open, and other times it's not so bad. Somedays i have had no bm, and just passed blood and mucus once in the morning, then the rest of the day can be normal! It's so variable.
Anyway i just wish i could find something to give me some temporary relief, nothing i have tried is working. I am currently taking B.infantis Natren probiotic, vitamin E enemas and omega 3,6,9 oil. I also add turmeric to my food, and eat manuka honey. I find that it doesn't matter to much what i eat, bland stuff and stuff with not much nutritional value like biscuits and cake etc seem to be ok. I need to eat that kind of thing to get some calories. But i am still REALLY bleeding, and today so much left sided pain, it felt like i needed gas and air!!
Surgery before the end of the year i think, unless of course my consultant doesn't think things look bad enough.
