Random tailbone pain

First let me say, I am in remission.  I am not flaring in the least.  I have solid stool, but not too solid.  No left sided pain.  No bleeding.  But off and on, I have tailbone pain and I don't know why.  It hits at random no matter what I am doing and then it is sore for days.  It goes away on it's own eventually but in the meantime I am uncomfortable having a bm, sitting and walking.  I do have sacroiilitis (inflammation of the SI joint) but it hasn't acted up in a few years.  So my question is:  Do any of you have tailbone pain while being in remission?  And if so, has the doctor ever told you what it could be from?

Oh and also, I have an appointment with my primary on March 1st for my eyes. I plan on asking her this too but I just wanted to see if anyone else is having this issue.

     I have tailbone pain also but then I attributed it to falling on the tailbone about five years ago.  What a fall that was too....suffered a compressed fracture of the lumbar spine...talk about pain!!! OY!  Had a CT scan on Monday because of this pain in the tailbone and rectum.  No Mass, thank God.  Was wondering because my paternal grandfather was hit in the head with a hard baseball when he was a kid and when he was 47 yrs old developed a brain tumor exactly in the same spot where he was hit.  Doctors thought that just a coincidence but makes ya wonder.

My youngest baby is 14 years old so I don't think it's from that. It hasn't started hurting until this past year.

I had tailbone pain on and off only while I was taking Asacol. I have never had it since then.. or before then actually. So I didn't have it while flaring or in remission except when taking Asacol.

No I have not ever had it xrayed. I did though recently have a CT scan of my pelvis area and there were some small incindental things that showed up when they were looking for kidney stones one of the being a small spot on my right hip that may be the beginning of arthritis. But other that it didn't show anything I guess. I have also had MRI's of my pelvic region though I know a MRI doesn't show anything wrong with bone just muscles, tendons and ligaments right?

I dunno. Very rarely I'll get like a sharp pain there, but not for very long and it's not a regular thing.

Lately though I've been getting pains right in the middle of my chest. Happens once in a while but it's annoying, and it's happened two days in a row. Less today though.
