I'm less than a year new to ulcerative colitis (diagnosed in June 2009). Was put on Asacol last summer. Had colonoscopy this past fall, and was informed that everything looked good, and that I likely wouldn't need another colonoscopy for 10 years. Currently, I am experimenting with diet--decreasing the amount of gluten in my diet, discovering that lots of raw fruits/vegetables give me a lot of cramping. I'm finding that I have intermittent discomfort--gas pains maybe... here and there. Usually a few times during the week, then it goes away for a couple of days or so. Also, if I forget to take my medicine, my body tells me! Haven't had an issue with diarrhea since last summer, just having some cramping here and there. Any thoughts?
