Gallbladder problems.

Has anybody here had gall bladder problems that stemmed from having Ulcerative colitis?

I am having right sided pressure under the ribs, and i am worried it might be my gallbladder. The thing is i used to get this pain/ache on my left side under the ribs, is it colitis related or something else?

I am in a flare at the moment, loads of gas, mucus and blood. It had settled a little, now seems like it is flaring hard again. I am having a sigmoidoscopy Monday.

Anyone ever get these pains?

I've had them on occasion and one gallbladder attack. Don't know if it's really connected to UC or coincidence. I've had gas and spasming on the right side, but that's my colon. Antispasmodics do help with that.

When you go for your sig, maybe the doc can send you for blood tests for liver enzyme tests, etc to make sure it's not your liver.

As well, maybe push for an ultrasound of that area.

Let us know what happens.

I have two friend who had gallbladder problems. Both had extreme pain - sharp shooting pain. They also both had nausea and threw up bile. I am not sure if those are extreme symptoms or not..

I was in a 2 year remission when I had my first gallbladder attacks so I don't think it was UC related. I only had two and then called my GI who then ordered an ultrasound. My pain was so severe I could not catch my breath. The pain started under my ribs and went all the way up to my shoulder blades. I'm a firm believer in calling and asking the doc - phone calls are free. Best of luck!

I'm a male, and the bladder of the male is similar to female (?).

My colitis mainly happens at rectum and sigmoid and a very small part of left-sided (totally 18cm). I have on occassion right-sided pain. I am not sure if this pain is from colon or bladder.
