That is so interesting. I'm in the US and take Asacol... I recently asked my GI about the pills and food because i'd been seeing whole-looking pills in my stool, and he said that the point of these is to release medicine topically onto the surface of the colon... so maybe that's why to take them after food....?
I'm just guessing, I'd never hear to take them after food before.

don't know....I take them after I eat in the morning (so that's on a full stomach), but at bedtime, my stomach is pretty much empty.

It could be so that it's not slowed down and makes it through the stomach quicker.
