First and foremost, I got this internship to teach English in Germany this summer! If anyone's fluent and wants to chat or anything, I need practice lol

UC-wise, I'm not sure what's going on... I was seeing a lot of mucous (well, a lot, seeing as how I pretty much hadn't had any in like four years). It was like, braided into the poo sort of. It started a couple of days ago. And tonight I think I might have seen blood. It was so faint I'm not 100% sure if it was really there, but it looked like there was a little bit. I haven't changed anything. What's up? Should I go get some Rowasa or something? Or, it could be because I'm sick, but I've been wayy sicker and it hasn't affected me this much.

Congrats on the internship! That's great! As for the UC potentially acting up, I'd probably keep and eye on it for a few days, and if you think you're seeing more mucous and blood, then yeah, I'd ask for some enemas.

Yeah. It's a lot better because it's only three weeks long and I'll get to teach, which is what I needed!

Yeah, I guess so. I hope it was just color from food. But even so, mucous isn't a great thing to see.

I am sorry you're stressing about this. You sound like me, I am always seeing something I don't like. You know if things are getting active and you probably want to prepare yourself. Maybe contact your doctor and get advice on how to proceed. Better of trying to take action sooner! Congratulations on your internship!! Sounds incredible.

It it were me....I'd start the enemas at this time.

You should have them on hand anyway or be on them for maintenance.

Awesome news, Elephant Pipe! When do you go? How long will you be there? Will you get a chance to travel around too? So cool! I definitely agree w/Quincy - either get on enemas or at least have them on hand. You should have all your tools at the ready. BTW, I taught for a year in Japan when I was about your age - you're going to LOVE the experience. :-)

I go in June for about three weeks and I hope I get to travel!

notsosickly, usually this stuff sort of goes away on it's own and I don't start worrying until I see blood (generally) or like, thin poo. Also, I don't wanna get sick before my internship, that'd be lame.

So I was thinking, could taking Benadryl too often do something to me?

WAY COOL about your internship! So ya gotta stay healthy ... don't mess with otc meds, eh? I got really sick once from oral Benadryl-- felt like the muscles nearest my lungs were becoming paralyzed. Yuck! If you're seeing colon mucus, start with diet assessment in case any indiscretions there could be bothering you-- my take on it. Keep us posted. / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brand name Colazal)
