does anyone have more info on the relationship between sulphate reducing bacteria and ulcerative colitis.

I remember reading an article hypothesizing this causation theory, in New Scientist back in the 90s, but not sure how much if anything confirmed it. Here's a more recent, 2007 abstract:

what bacteria in particular in the connection with uc?
