what oral anti inflammatories are not mesmaline?

I can't tolerate mesmaline, so what anti inflammatories for the colon are there that don't contain mesmaline?

Sulfasalazine contains no mesalamines. Colazal is a basalazide which is similiar to mesalamines being as they are both 5-ASA's. However, I can not tolerate mesalamines but I can tolerate Colazal but not at full dosing.

The only other 5asa that isn't mesalazine is sulfasalazine. You could try balsalazide, but it releases mesalazine.

I seem to be one of the types of people that isn't able to tolerate melsalazine, but, for whatever weird reason, is able to tolerate balsalazide.
Try a probiotic. I started Align yesterday, and I've already noticed that I feel slightly better, although my poos smelled, lol.
People seem to like VCL#3 more though because it has 225 billion cultures in it compared to 1 billion in Align, but I wanted to try a "cheaper" probiotic plus Align will refund your money if you don't feel as if it helped you any.

I thought you were off UC meds because you were dx with Lyme disease and not UC? I'm confused?

But to answer your question, I took sulfasalzine for 10 years with great success. It stopped working after 10 years and my UC spiraled out of control and Asacol and Pentasa never helped. So, if you are taking UC meds again you might give sulfasalazine a try.

LOL, it was like I ate a whole bunch of beans and mexican food. but yea, its noon and so far I've only taken two Align pills (one yesterday and one this morning). So far I feel pretty good. I ate lunch, and went to go get a snack and felt nauseous when looking at the snacks, but that's probably cause I've became so used to avoiding unhealthy foods.
I don't enjoy Coke anymore (or any soft drink with hfcs) unless they are made with natural sugar. Fast food tastes nasty to me now.
Yesterday I went to the bathroom like 8-10 times. Today only two so far and that was in the morning.

Sulfasalazine contains sulfa and mesalamine, so that is NOT an option for those who cannot tolerate mesalamine or mesalazine.

There's always Dipentum....
