Taking zolpidem for sleep...making my UC worse!

Just read the side effects of this drug. Prednisone gives me terrible insomnia and my family doctor gave me a prescription for zolpidem (generic for Ambien). Well, duh, one of the side effects is diarrhea!!!! UGH! No wonder I am not getting better. Think I will ditch that and try another method.

You might try Ativan. I used it for prednisone insomnia and it never affected my UC.

The only thing I can take for sleep that doesn't give me D is Tylenol PM.

Hey Christine :)

I take Zolpidem for sleep and it has never given me D.. In fact, when I do take it and am having stomach issues, it seems to settle those down too... Have you tried it already? I'm sorry if it's not working for you because I know how precious sleep can be when you are on Pred~!

Melatonin is excellent for sleep and it's a very perful anti-oxidant which is excellent for UC
