     Is there a difference here?  My flex sig showed mild/moderate inflammation but doctor didn't say anything about ulcerations.  He showed me the pics he took and it just looked irritated, red....no deep ulcers.  No sign of dysplasia..thank God.

Yes, they are different. Inflammation is just irritation of the lining - sort of like a sore throat. If the inflammation is bad enough for long enough, ulcers will develop.

Inflammation can be from minimal to severe. Minimal can be like an irritated area, mild inflammation will have teeeeeny tiny blister-like ulcers, all together looking like "roadrash or carpet burn". It might bleed easily...

Separate ulcers, go a bit deeper into the sub-mucosa. They are a further increase of inflammation and severity of disease on the visual/microscopic level.

Where exactly was the inflammation limited to...meaning how high before normal mucosa?

     Inflammation was limited to about six inches inside rectum.  He wants to do a colonoscopy as soon as I get off the prednisone, but I am in no hurry.  Seems like every time I schedule a colonoscopy I flare!  The last one I had was while I was hospitalized in May of 08. Colon as clear as a bell, rectum was the one with the inflammation.
