Remicade...?

I've been having a flare since October, my doctor has increased all of my medications and I'm currently starting my fourth consecutive taper of Prednisone. So far nothing has been able to stop my colon from bleeding. I haven't had a flare this bad ever and I'm about to lose it!!!  My doctor said our next move is Remicade, I don't know anything about it and was looking for any opinions or information anyone had!!  Also any other tips that have helped in the past!!! Thank you SO much!

I am currently on Remicade as well, and this is my second biologic. I was previously in a trial for Humira (it worked for me for a little less than 2 years). So far, the Remicade is working well for me, and I have had 3 infusions. I also have noticed the tired/achy after the infusions, but otherwise, I have not had ill effects from it. Humira is very similar, and I had no negative side effects (that i know of) while on that either.

These are heavy hitters, but they have given me my life back. I take milk thistle as a preventative (it is an herbal supplement that is supposed to be good for the liver) because everyone says these meds are hard on the liver. I guess I have no real way of knowing if it helps, but it hasn't had any ill effects on me, and I drink and take tylenol, and I have never had any issues with my liver function, so I just keep taking it.

It is definitely a personal decision-and I know some people are against the biologics, but like I said, they have given me my life back. I am having one formed BM a day with no visible blood, for the time being, I eat what I want, and I am able to live normally.
