I am wondering if this is related to my UC or something else. I am not usually prone to rashes. Monday night I got home from work (teaching) and suddenly realized I had a rash on my neck and mainly on my abdomen. My neck rash is about
1x3 inches and my abdomen is more like 3x5-6 inches. It is raised, red, itchy, and merged together, particularly on my abdomen. Earlier Monday night I was teaching and I had an attach of abdominal pain, like large pockets of trapped gas. I have not had that in a while. I wanted to bend over and felt like it was all I could do to keep talking/lecturing and not pass out from the sharp pains that lasted for about
an hour. Maybe the two are not related but it seems like they could be. I had eaten a homemade bean burrito with "veggie meat". I don't eat them often but it is a quick meal before class to hold me over till later. I don't think it is a food allergy as I have eaten them before. Also I am not using a new laundry detergent. I have tried searching online but have not found any answers. If anyone has had a similar experience or any suggestions I am
open to them. I guess if I still have it next Monday I will call the doctor. I feel fine otherwise.

I'd say the gas might have been from the burrito if you ate it a few hours before class....but I think you should also look back at what you might have eaten the day before/morning or at noon the day of, which could have also been part of the problem.
Did you take a different brand of supplements over the past few days...been in a hot tub? tanning outside or something like that?
Is it painful....could possibly be shingles?
Do take a picture of it...a few angles, with a flash and not....just because.
Maybe take an antihistamine to see if it improves. If it's an allery, it'll be gone, but O would say that if it's still there tomorrow....call the doctor and see if you can get it checked.

I agree that if it's still there in a day or so to contact your doc. Take an antihistamine to ease the itch and if the rash gets worse or becomes mega itchy, contact your doctor sooner.
And FYI, allergic reactions can occur at any age and at any time regardless of past history of no reactions.

Well I took a photo but am not sure how to post it. I can not think of anything that could have caused this; nothing new to eat, no sun. It is not painful, just itchy. Unfortunately I have to wait till I get paid tomorrow before I can buy antihistamine or afford to go to the doctor. Since the weekend is coming I may just wait till Monday to call the doctor, unless it gets worse. Thanks for the suggestions!

I had rash on my back and hips a few months ago. Not sure if related to UC. Went away with skin cream, but I still itch on these areas and some other parts of my body.

It could be fungal. Has it spread, or did it just show up all at once? If antihisthamines don't help I would try some dandruff shampoo or Lotrimin and see if that helps.
If it does get worse, see a doctor.

Hmmm. Maybe it is similar. Could be. I guess a rash is an inflammatory response, which is what UC is. Mine has not changed. Luckily it does not constantly itch. Tomorrow I am going to buy some benadryl and see if that helps, maybe some lotion too. I also am currently not flaring. I just worry it could be some precursor. I will try to stay optimistic.

Interesting it hasn't changed, or not itchy.
Can you download the pic to maybe photobucket and then attach a link?
If you have cortisone cream or canesten cream (yeast infection cream) try eiter to see if it improves.
Interesting that it's in two places....
