Another article from the Am College of GIs. The article talks more about Crohn's, but does give UC a few mentions, and the research seems aimed toward both. The gist of this is that some research is being done to correct the dicey genes that lead to IBD, and this lead to, um, dare I say it, A Cure.

I don't know specifically what he was talking about but my GP told me the other day that one of his patients just came out of a stem cell research trial and it really seems to have worked for her. She's doing well, med free and symptom free. It gave me some hope... Now if I can just hang onto my colon...
