Have my C-Scope tomorrow...

Hi everyone,

well tomorrow is the big day LOL.  I drank the prep at 8am, PICO- SALAX and I have one super soft BM and kinda feel another one coming on. It took about 1 hour to start to work but it's not urgent or anything like that. I think this was an amazing prep. Tasted like lime, only had to drink a small cup and will have to drink another small cup at about 4pm.

The only worry I have is I am home alone with my 6 month old son. Husband wont be home tonight till 11pm :(  Hopefully all will go well.

I didnt follow my plan of trying to eat light these past few days. In fact I went WAY over board with eating. Hubby and I went out for dinner for only like the 3rd time without baby. I ate way too much, felt sick. then yesterday I ate a lot too, oh well,  crossing my fingers for a smooth next couple of days.

I dont know if anyone remembers that I was having strange UC symptoms and dull pain in between my ribs, breastbone areas. Well, had tons of blood tests, and a abdominal ultrasound. There was nothing that came up.

So, it`s been 7 yrs since my 1st and only cscope, wish me luck!

I remember those days of doing the prep with babies at home. You'll be ok. Glad this prep wasn't so bad! I haven't done that one....

Can anyone tell me how long it normally takes to be 'cleared out' from the prep for a colonoscopy? I used Pico Salax. I have gone now (2pm) maybe 5 times but the last few have been almost nothing. I'll check next time to see if its clear yet. I know that I still need to take anothe cup at 5pm.

I know that you feel pretty cleaned out, but I'd take the whole thing to make sure there is nothing hiding in there! rolleyes Good luck with the c-scope!

OK, second dose taken... I forgot how hungry I feel!! Like to the point of nausea. I am dreaming of food. Every commercial seems to be food related. So hungry!
Is it OK to eat a light meal right after the scope? I was thinking soup and crackers.

No you shouldn't be eating anything. Do you have any hard candies to suck on?

I'm pretty certain it's ok to just eat whatever you feel like after the scope. I was in a nasty flare and struggling with nausea when I had my one and only, so I didn't feel like eating much of anything. I think a lot of people here go out for a big ole' breakfast when they're done.

Ha, that just goes to show you I can't multi-task. :-) Yes, I had a meal that was easy on my stomach just after the colonoscopy. I think I even brought a few crackers and some water just to have on the way home. Sorry about that!
