i am sooo sure i am on my way to remission,, i have not bled for 2 days and am not missing my medication been taking it regular :), Bm's a bit bitty and not right yet but i,m hoping that improves too,, only ever stopped bleeding once before so i am praying to god,,,,i feel great today,,, just a quickie though does any one else have these great days,, then wham it starts,, and makes u feel so depressed? and has any one else had the bitty Bm's? hope ur all feeling well blush

Believe me when I tell you that I know exactly what you are talking about. I think i have been getting progressibley better since January. That said, I still will see a tiny speck of blood every now and then and get totally depressed and dejected. It helps me to keep a log to track my progress. Last week I had had 50 BM's in a row without a trace of blood, then saw a few specks one evening last week. I was distraught, but when I look at the overall picture and how I am getting progressivley better, I feel better. If you have a bad day in the next day or so, focus on the overall trendline and not the fact you had one bad day.

Exactly! My old GI was so wise, taught me so much, and would always say, "focus on the overall trend!"
But, that being said.... yeah, I've been there, know exactly what you mean, a little streak of blood can deflate my mood for an entire day!
Another helpful thing that dear GI would say is, "if overall the frequency and urgency are getting better, I am just NOT concerned about a little blood now and then - it's likely "bottom" being still friable and possibly just getting scratched, mechanically, as matter passes through."
In my recent miniflare a canas suppository in mornings helped take care of that last bit of bottom bleeding.....(in addition to the nighttime enemas)...

This advice has been very helpful for me as I am at that point as well and one little change can just make me feel so bad.
I will keep my sights on the trend.

thanks for replys,, also read someone elses thread and they said when there coming out of a flare, when they go to loo it seems like loads is coming out (sorry sounds awful) and lots of pressure down there it kills at the time its happening,,, and i am getting that too any one else?,,, oh dear we have to go thru loads dont we xx

That pain is the rectal inflammation and spasming...it will pass as you heal.

Keep up with the enemas daily...

It takes time.

REgarding the larger stool amounts, as the area above the rectum heals the stools will form better. With rectal inflammation, I would think that the area can be more fussy or reactive with IBS as well as UC....double whammy.

If one is eating regularly, there will be more stool...

With more bms, the system is working a bit quicker, which is ok for comfort levels. But if there is low in the rectum inflammation left with above pretty much healed, bms will change up and sometimes be less in bulk, thinner and even harder.
As the rectum heals, that too changes.

It's kind of a backwards thing, but the point would be to continue the rectal meds past that point....
