I have been suffering froma severe flare-up of UC for 5 years now. I have tried everything and am now on Imuran watitng for the next trial drug to come out. My bleeding has slowed considerably since being on the Imuran to where I can almost say it's stopped. However I am still running to the bathroom 15 times a day. I am very frusterated because I had bloodwork done 2 weeks ago and it came back normal...actually my hemoglobin was at 149...the highest it's ever been. While that is good news, I am frusterated because it isn't showing them the extent of my suffering. I had a scope last July that showed " moderate to severe pancolitis" and even back then my bloodwork was coming back in the normal range and the doctr said the sed rate definately didn't match what they saw on the scope. Does anyone out there have the same issue? I am worried that the doctors will start to think it's all in my head! I know that the scope is the ultimate proof opf what's really going on in there but can you have normal bloodwork when you are having such extreme symptoms?
Any help would greatly be appreciated...I am getting very depressed.
