Manufacturers of probiotic drinks and supplements make wild claims about
their culture counts but those culture counts are often next to nothing by the time the product gets to the consumer. For example I bought this supplement that claims 50 billion per capsule. This capsule is dry and obviously has a shelf-life. I wonder how many are actually in it now. It's possible there are zero.
Anyone have the Ultimate Flora brand?

One thing I did read through on their site regarding their new 80 Billion Critical Care Bifido Max from Ultimate Flora is they guarantee the bacteria count to time of expiration on the bottle if it's stored under normal conditions. Not sure if that applies to the 50 Billion or not but I'd be curious if your bottle as an expiration date. I've taken the 50 Billion in the past but I'm now on VSL.

Do you need a prescript
ion for VSL?

Hi Christine -
There are some threads about
that. Regular VSL is OTC. VSL Double Strength (DS) is prescript
ion only, which for me means my insurance will pay for enough of it to make it cheaper than the regular VSL.
