Hi, and welcome.
Some folks find that diet really helps them, and other don't. When I'm in a flare, I find that it helps me to stay away from salads and raw things because they might be scratchy going through, from beans and gassy vegetables because the gas hurts.... sometimes tomato sauce-based foods irritate... it's all trial and error. Basically, when I'm flaring, I try to eat foods that are easier to digest - more chicken and fish than beef (although really lean, tender beef sits well with me)... well-cooked vegetables. I've never had issues with dairy products.
When I'm not in a flare, I eat pretty much what I want, though I tend to eat in a healthy way in general.
