Well I went and talked to my surgeon, Dr. Liberman with the Atlanta Colon surgeon group. Very nice, explained to me pretty much everything everything that I've read so far and talked to others about
. He said that I should do excellent with a jpouch and that I should only be in the hospital for about
5 days if everything goes as expected.
He also noted that it is bad that I've lost weight from the flare up, it also helps him with the surgery and also the ileo bag will be more flush with my skin.
He said that after I leave from the hospital that I will pretty much be able to normal everyday things except for lifting stuff that is 7+ lbs for the first couple of weeks. Someone on here said that for the first week or so you can't drive and I asked him about
that and he laughed. He said it isn't because of the stoma, but because of pain relievers and that driving while on those is generally a bad thing. Good to know that he has a since of humor.
He gave me the option of having the surgery as early as this Friday, but I have to be at my brothers graduation Saturday so that wouldn't work. So I go to have my surgery on the 28th of this month! So awesome! I have to go in for blood tests this Friday. Then two days before my surgery I have to go on a liquid diet and then the day before start the Moviprep stuff, bleh.
Woo!

Let me know how it goes. I live in the Atlanta area and a testimonial will always come in handy if I ever end up at surgery.
