OH NO....on top of all your troubles you have to suffer from the rectal pain too?
. It is really horrible, isn't it? I just hope and pray I can hold out for six more weeks! I feel somewhat better today. That is my only discomfort (understatement ..lol) is in the rectum. I always tell my husband..."if I could just cut out that rectum, I would feel 100% better.
My GI said the rectum is the most stubborn part to treat in UC. Sure you can treat it with the enemas and suppositories along with the oral meds, but sooner or later (I've had this disease since 98) the disease takes over and becomes resistant to the meds. I try lying to myself all the time...denial I guess and think that...maybe the doctors are wrong...maybe it is just internal hemorrhoids and they are missing it.
When I was pregnant with my youngest daughter (she is now 33), I had a blood clot on the outside of my anus...hurt like the devil. I went to a colorectal surgeon back then, he leaned me over a board (I was five months pregnant) and snipped that sucker right off. Well, I thought I was going to skyrocket to the moon! Then he told me I was going to need an operation after the birth of my child. Well, after that experience, I thought to myself..."Not coming back to YOU pal." He is long since deceased and I never had problems after the birth either. Oh, I did have some hemorrhoids but nothing that Preparation H couldn't handle.
Are you seeing ANY improvement at all Pam? Geez, I wish there was something I could do to help, I really do.
