I hope I get a private room. When I was in the hospital two years ago for ten days I had four different roommates the first six days. The first one had Lou Gehrigs Disease. I felt so bad for her, she was really in bad shape. However, her family never adhered to the two visitor policy and she used to have her husband, grown children and four grandkids up there during visiting hours which were 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.. That was a bit much. All I had was my husband there and my daughter would come after work. Even though the bathroom was around the corner from my bed, I had to have a port a pot placed next to my bed. Nothing but blood was coming out of me and it seemed I was constantly on that pot. It was very embarrasing to say the least. The nurse finally said something to her when she saw that one of the grandkids kept pulling back my curtain and peaking at me! My second roommate was great but she was only in there two days. My third and fourth roommates should have been in psych wards...nuttier than fruitcakes. No surprise that they couldn't get my blood pressure down...it was 216/110! I finally blew my stack on the sixth day, picked up the phone and called administration. I told them if they didn't get me into a private room that the undertaker would be taking me out of there and they would have a big lawsuit on their hands. That afternoon I had a private room..lol.
