aprisol and hydrocortisone

I've been taking aprisol for a month now along with hydrocortisone enemas and I'm still seeing blood in my stool. How long do I have to wait to see results? I have a dr. appt. on Tuesday.

Maybe you can ask the doc for a prescription for mesalamine enemas...in the US they'd be Rowasa.

When did you start the steroid enemas?

Hi - Welcome to the forum, and I'm sorry you're having trouble!
Are you seeing any improvement at all, in frequency, urgency, whether the stool is formed or not.....?
Generally, the steroid enemas kick in for me in about 48 hours.
Just brainstorming here, but might it be worth asking your doctor if one of the other 5-ASA meds might help, instead of the Apriso...? (Or maybe you need a higher dose of the Apriso?)
Sounds like it might be a good idea to touch base with your doctor.

Thanks for replying I will ask my doctor. I started the enemas about 3 weeks ago. I was diagnosed about a month. The improvement I've seen is that I don't have too many bowel movements. They are usually formed. I don't and haven't had diarrhea. I hope I get better because I'd like to start trying to conceive. Thanks for the advice.

Well, so, you have seen some improvement; that's good!
I was diagnosed when I was trying to conceive, and went on to have two kids - so, hang in there!

Did you wait until you were in remission to try to conceive?
