Yeah that's a good point. You read these studies that say, I don't know, chlorella reduces UC symptoms by 50%, or whatever. Sounds great. Then you read furthur and find the patients were taking 7 grams a day. I personally think I'm better off taking small doses of a lot of supplements that are shown to reduce inflammation. All the studies of different supplements show many similarities, like blocking TNF-alpha production or promoting anti-inflammatory cytonkines.
Sticking to one thing and taking huge doses could hurt more than help, IMHO. I've read large doses of turmeric for an extended period of time can cause colonic ulcers!
