Has anybody had any luck with MLN0002? I started taking it about 2 weeks ago and have responded real well. I was going to bathroom about 5-10 times a day with lots of blood. Since I got the invusion I have only been going 1-2 times a day with no blood and feel normal for once. I had previously tried Remicade and Cimzia and did not have any success.  I was diagnosed with UC approx. 8 years ago and have been in the hospital on 3 separate occassions wherein I had to have blood transfusions. I only hope that it keeps working-I obviously during the first phase of this study received the placebo as my symptoms did not change.  

Thanks-I have treatments lined up through 2012 so hopefully it will keep on working and get approved soon.

Please keep us posted on how you do.  I wonder about the PML also. That's why I'm scared to go on it. I know it is only suppose to go to your gut but my doc said they won't know that it does for sure for years.  I know PML usually didn't develop until people were on it long term(a couple years). I'm on remicade and it is helping my symptoms but my last colonoscopy showed it isn't healing my colon. They upped my dose in August and I have a colonoscopy in Feb. if it isn't healed they don't want me on the remicade.

They want me to give it a shot. I'm scared of the PML otherwise I would.

I am in this trial too. No side effects, unless you count a healthy colon. Just finished my first year. Then moved to the arm of the trial where all patients get the drug, and my study is extended for two more years...AND I don't have to call in the daily diary anymore. I only have to report symptoms when I go for my monthly infusons.

My doc is continues to monitor me very closely. My WBC has been sligtly elevated in the last few months...but I am chalking that up frequent URIs I had while on Remicade in 2008. Its lile the wind blows too hard and I get another URI.

This drug has allowed me to keep my colon. Last scope was in December 2010, no signs of disease at all.
