You know I'm a fan of Metamucil.... but last summer I ordered some of the powdered psyllium seed. First I tried switching to the seed powder, and... I didn't like the change in poop consistency. So then or about 4 months I took one big dose of the seed and one of Metamucil a day.... and I couldn't tell a lot of difference. I know the seed powder is supposed to raise butyrate levels in the colon and make it healthier, but... I was flaring all that time and seed vs. powder did not make a difference in my symptoms. Others may disagree (remember Lookingforacure?) but - this was my experience. I'd go with personal preference or ease of purchase.
